  • Optimise AR/AP cycles; oversee credit control and supplier terms

  • Evaluate investments and business cases (ROI, NPV, payback)

  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills

  • Analytical mindset with process improvement focus and attention to detail

Nice to have: multi-entity or multi-currency exposure, SaaS metrics knowledge, experience in fast-growth SMEs or PE-backed environments.

Reporting lines

Typically reports to the Financial Controller, Finance Director, or CFO. May supervise Assistant Accountants, AP/AR, and Payroll.

Success metrics (KPIs)

  • Month-end delivered on time and error-free

  • Forecast accuracy (e.g., ±5–10% on revenue/cash)

  • DSO/DPO and working-capital improvements

  • Audit points cleared; clean statutory submissions

  • Automation gains (hours saved, report turnaround)

  • Budget adherence and cost-saving initiatives

Tools you might list

Xero/NetSuite/Sage/SAP, Excel/Sheets, Power BI/Looker/Tableau, payroll platforms, expense and AP automation (Pleo, Spendesk, Bill.com), CRM (Salesforce/HubSpot).
